Domain verification is a way to declare the ownership of domain names in BM. With the ownership of the domain name, you can control the links and editing permissions of other content, prevent your domain from being used illegally, and prevent your website from being marked by Facebook and cannot launch advertisements. We captured customers’ behaviors through FB pixel code, such as adding to the cart, clicking, checking out, etc., and each item was tracked in place. We can also obtain accurate behavior data of customers entering the store from these correct data, to optimize our store and products, and accurately record our conversion volume and all aspects of data. However, since the new IOS 14 regulations protect users’ privacy, FB officials are forced to “block” users’ behavior data if advertisers do not verify the domain.

Let me verify the domain with you step by step:

Enter Facebook Business Manager (referred to as BM). On the left, click “Brand Safety” and “Domains”.

Click “Add a domain” (take note of the format of the domain name)

There are three different ways to authenticate domain name ownership. Here we choose the second one and upload an HTML verification file to your website.

After the HTML file is uploaded to the root directory of the server, click “Verify”, if the domain turns green, it means the verification is successful.

After the domain verification is completed, some sellers will still have that prompt when they advertise. Then we would need to [configure website events] at this time.

  1. To solve this problem, first, we need to enter the backstage BM, find the pixel we have verified and put into use, and open it in the event management tool.
  2. Click Overview >Aggregated Event Measurement>Configure Website Events
  3. Find the verified domain and click “edit event”
  4. Click “add event” to add purchase, initiate checkout, and other events according to priority. You can add up to 8 events at most.
  5. After the configuration is completed, click “save” to complete the event configuration. Domain verification is not very restrictive for some new advertising accounts. You can run ads without verifying the domain name. However, you must verify the domain name after your store and your advertising account have certain data accumulation, otherwise, you will lose a lot of data!
