Andrew Forrest, an Australian iron ore tycoon, announced on Thursday that he would file a criminal lawsuit against Facebook, a social media platform owned by Meta Platform, in an Australian court, accusing the platform of violating the anti-money laundering law and being used to cheat Australians.
Before the lawsuit, Forrest said that he had repeatedly asked Facebook to prevent his image from being used to promote the investment plan, including in an open letter to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the company in November 2019.
In September last year, Forrest filed another civil lawsuit against Facebook in the High Court of San Mateo County, California.
